Minister Instructs Officials to Initiate Temple Beautification Projects

Hyderabad: State Endowments Minister Konda Surekha has instructed officials to carefully carry out development work in the state’s famous temples. She emphasized that the beauty of the temples and the uniqueness of the surrounding areas should not be disturbed, and historical monuments must not be damaged.

The Minister held a review meeting with officials from the Endowments Department at the Secretariat. They discussed the progress of various temple projects, including the development of Keesaragutta Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple and Yadadri Temple. The meeting also covered the master plan for the Bhadrachalam Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Temple and the improvement of facilities at other temples.

Minister Surekha highlighted the importance of coordination between different departments such as Forest, Endowments, Tourism, Culture, R&B, and Panchayat Raj. She said this would help avoid any obstacles during the development work. She also mentioned that the construction of a Vedic school at Yadagirigutta would begin after a monitoring committee, led by the department’s Principal Secretary, submits its report on the gold plating of the Vimana Gopuram at the Yadagirigutta sanctum.

Additionally, Surekha announced that a Vedic school will be built on 20 acres in Raigiri at an estimated cost of Rs 43 crore. This project will be undertaken under the leadership of Govinda Hari and the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. She also shared that a new Annadana Satram (dining hall for devotees) will be opened soon.
