Siddipet:
Telangana’s Minister for Forests, Environment, and Endowments, Konda Surekha, recently spoke about the respect given to MLAs in the BRS government. She made these remarks during an event in Dubakka, Siddipet district, where Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques were distributed. The event was also attended by MP Raghunandan Rao and MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy.
During the distribution, there was some tension between leaders from three different parties. Congress constituency in-charge Cheruku Srinivasa Reddy was asked by MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy not to come on stage, citing protocol. This led to protests from Congress leaders, who insisted that he should remain on stage. Supporters from the different parties began chanting in favor of their respective leaders.
Despite the protests, Minister Konda Surekha continued with the cheque distribution ceremony. She assured that Congress constituency in-charges would be involved in development programs organized by the government, but they should avoid creating issues for local MLAs.
