AIMIM Leader Alleges Massive 'School Bench Scam' in Telangana
Hyderabad: AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi has made a shocking claim in the Assembly. He stated that the ‘school bench scam’ was even bigger than the corruption in the Kaleshwaram project during the BRS rule.
Owaisi alleged that under the ‘Mana Vooru Mana Badi’ programme, the previous KCR government bought lakhs of school benches at prices much higher than the market rate. He said that the benches were purchased at five times their actual cost. He urged the government to launch an investigation into the matter.
During a debate on the State budget, Owaisi explained that the benches were bought for around ₹14,000 to ₹20,000 each, while their actual market price was only ₹4,000. He called this a massive scam, claiming that it was a way for officials to loot public money.
Without naming anyone, Owaisi hinted that a key person involved in the scam is now close to the current government. He demanded strict action against those responsible.
