Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has announced that it will extend its service hours to help people attending the Ganesh idol immersion. On Wednesday, the last metro train on all lines will depart at 1 AM, ensuring passengers reach their destinations by 2 AM.
To handle the large crowds, HMRL will also increase security at Khairatabad and Lakdikapul metro stations. Additional ticket counters will be set up to help manage the rush.
The security arrangements are being supervised by police officers of DSP rank. Over the past few weeks, metro stations and trains have seen heavy crowds, with daily ridership crossing 5 lakh passengers. In response, extra trains with higher frequency will be added during peak hours until the Ganesh immersion period ends, according to a senior official.
