Moderate to heavy rains are expected in the northern and southern districts of Telangana due to Cyclone Michaung in the Bay of Bengal. In response to this warning, the State Disaster Management Authority Secretary, Rahul Bojja, held a tele-conference with district collectors on Tuesday. The districts that were included in the discussion were Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mulugu, Hanumkonda, Warangal, Jangaon, Mahabubabad Suryaper, and others. During the conference, the SDMA secretary urged the collectors to exercise caution as heavy rains are predicted for the next two days. He emphasized the importance of following protocols related to flooding caused by heavy rainfall. The secretary also stressed the need to inspect water bodies and ensure that there are no breaches. Additionally, he instructed officials from various departments such as irrigation, disaster management, roads and buildings, Panchayat Raj, and Revenue to be vigilant. Lastly, he advised officials to evacuate people from low-lying areas to safer locations.
