Mega rally against Centre's ordinance to be organized by AAP

The AAP will hold a rally on June 11 against the Centre’s recent ordinance. The ordinance gives the lieutenant governor control over administrative services, which goes against a Supreme Court order in favor of the Kejriwal government. The AAP’s Delhi convenor, Gopal Rai, called the ordinance a “black ordinance” and said it shows that the Centre will impose “dictatorial decisions”. He urged people to join the rally at Ramlila Maidan. The Centre created the ordinance on May 19 to create a National Capital Civil Service Authority for transfer of IAS and DANICS cadre officers and disciplinary proceedings against them. This happened a week after the Supreme Court gave control of services, excluding those related to police, public order, and land, to the elected government in Delhi. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met with his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar on Sunday and called for opposition unity to take on the BJP. He also said he would meet with leaders of various parties to ensure that any bill brought to replace the recent central ordinance is not passed in Rajya Sabha.
