The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has launched a cleanliness campaign in the city. All ward councilors and cleaning staff are working together to clean the streets. This campaign is taking place in all 250 wards.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has praised the corporation and councilors for their success in this campaign. He believes that the BJP has turned Delhi into a garbage dump over the past 15 years. Kejriwal is optimistic that this campaign will be successful in making Delhi clean.
Durgesh Pathak, the senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and MCD in-charge, has announced that there are 3000 teams working across Delhi for this campaign. Each team inspects 50 streets in the morning and cleans them immediately if there are any complaints of garbage.
Pathak mentioned that the BJP, who was in charge of the MCD for 15 years, did not properly clean a single street. He criticized the BJP’s leadership for not working for Delhi and not paying employees’ wages on time. He stated that the people of Delhi drove the BJP out of MCD and handed control to CM Arvind Kejriwal. Under Kejriwal’s leadership, salaries were paid on time, which was a significant achievement.
This cleanliness campaign will last for 365 days, and 3000 teams have been formed to carry out the work. The main objective is to keep Delhi clean, and a detailed plan has been prepared. The Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and House Leader will visit two to three wards every day to monitor progress.
Some sweepers and cleaning workers have provided positive feedback about the campaign. They mentioned that their salaries are now paid on time, and their lives have improved significantly. They are committed to making Delhi beautiful and clean.
In addition to their feedback, several other sweepers and cleaning workers expressed their support for the campaign.
