State chief secretary Santhi Kumari urged officials to work towards maintaining the state’s top ranking in Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) this year. She conducted a meeting with senior officials to review the progress of reforms being implemented by various departments under EoDB. Santhi Kumari emphasized the importance of completing all compliances by the end of July and ensuring timely issuance of necessary notifications.

During the meeting, a presentation was given on the 287 reforms to be undertaken this year, including 39 new reforms, 60 modified reforms, and 188 retained reforms. Santhi Kumari instructed officials to expedite the development of online systems and update service information on the online dashboard. She also stressed the importance of obtaining feedback from users to enhance service delivery and conducting stakeholder meetings at the district level to raise awareness.

Key officials such as special chief secretary (Industries) Jayesh Ranjan, special chief secretary (Labour) Rani Kumudini, and principal secretaries from various departments attended the meeting to discuss the progress of EoDB reforms. The chief secretary directed departments to be prepared for legislative changes required to comply with EoDB reforms and ensure smooth implementation.

Overall, the focus of the meeting was on streamlining processes, improving online services, and engaging with stakeholders to enhance ease of doing business in the state.
