Around 30 doctors from different parts of the country took part in a two-week program called Medical Students Research Training (MedSRT) at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad. The goal of the program was to familiarize medical students with the latest research in life sciences being conducted at CCMB.
During the program, the doctors received training on research methods through lectures and hands-on experiments. They also learned about scientific ethics, good laboratory practices, bio-safety, and had the opportunity to work at various research facilities at CCMB and its Annexes.
It is important for doctors to be familiar with tools related to life sciences as they are becoming more common in medicine. The MedSRT initiative of CCMB was offered free of charge to young doctors who were selected through a selection process. After completing the training, the doctors received certificates from CCMB.
