Hyderabad Mayor Addresses Public Issues and Delivers Promises Swiftly
Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi has been actively working at the field level to address public concerns in Greater Hyderabad. During her visit to various colonies in the Jubilee Hills Srinagar Colony division on January 18, she was accompanied by local corporator Manne Kavitha Reddy, Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender, the zonal commissioner of engineering, and deputy commissioners. Together, they resolved several public issues and provided immediate solutions.
In Venkateshwara Nagar ward, residents of Pratap Nagar raised concerns about the poor condition of roads in the bylines. After inspecting the situation, the Mayor assured the residents that construction of CC (Cement Concrete) roads would begin within three days. Staying true to her word, on Monday morning, she, along with the MLA and corporator, laid the foundation for CC roads in seven bylines. The project, which will cost Rs 84 lakh in total (Rs 45 lakh for one estimate and Rs 39 lakh for another), aims to improve road infrastructure in the area.
The Mayor pointed out that more work has been sanctioned in Venkateshwara Nagar than in her own division, reflecting her commitment to addressing public needs. She highlighted the government’s financial support to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), which has enabled significant improvements in basic infrastructure.
Additionally, the Mayor encouraged women to join self-help groups as part of the government’s initiative to empower one crore women financially. She shared that the GHMC has devised plans to support women in achieving economic independence. Mayor Vijayalakshmi reiterated her dedication to enhancing infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents in the Greater Hyderabad region.
