Massive Blaze Erupts in Puranapul, Hyderabad

A large fire broke out at a warehouse in Puranapul, Old City, Hyderabad, on Tuesday. Despite the efforts of five fire engines, the fire kept reigniting because of chemical barrels that exploded. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

The fire began in the afternoon at Swastik Supply Company and Decorations, causing damage worth several lakhs of rupees. Fire officials reported that a worker named Shahed Alam, originally from Bihar, was sleeping on-site but quickly evacuated when locals warned him. The fire consumed the items stored inside the premises.

Because of combustible materials present, the fire spread quickly, with flames visible from as far as two kilometers away. Once informed, the Kamatipura police arrived and alerted the Hyderabad Fire Department. Firefighters from nearby stations worked for two hours to put out the blaze.

Officials are still determining the exact cause of the fire, but they suspect it might be due to a short circuit. As a precaution, police cordoned off the area, and workers from a nearby factory were asked to evacuate. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
