In times of crisis, a doctor has traveled to Manipur to help the victims of violence. Dr. Prabhu Kumar Challagali, president of the Indian Medical Association, Banjara Hills, visited the conflict-ridden state to provide assistance to the affected communities. Despite facing challenges and difficulties, he managed to reach the distressed region of Kangkopi. At first, the people in the region were hesitant to communicate with him, but he remained patient and empathetic, eventually gaining their trust.
Dr. Prabhu Kumar has vast experience in conducting medical camps in rural areas and was prepared with a comprehensive medical setup and essential supplies. He treated over 600 people, many of whom had conditions like diarrhea and viral infections due to heavy rains and lack of shelter. He also emphasized the importance of addressing the emotional well-being of the affected individuals and providing psychiatric support to help them cope with the trauma they had endured.
Despite language barriers, Dr. Prabhu Kumar received support from a medical officer and dedicated nurses who assisted in translation, enabling effective communication with the locals. His efforts showcased the true essence of healing and support for the distressed community.
