A 25-year-old man caused chaos at Sankeshwar Bazaar in Saidabad by climbing a high-tension electricity tower due to alleged harassment by his wife. Mohan Babu, a labourer from Singareni Colony, was upset after being scolded by his wife when he returned home intoxicated. He then climbed the closest high-tension electricity tower on Sankeshwar Bazaar Road.
Communters noticed Mohan on the tower and informed the local power department officials, who shut off the power supply. The police arrived and tried to convince Mohan to come down, but when their attempts failed, they planned to climb the tower themselves. Seeing the authorities climbing up, Mohan decided to come down on his own.
Mohan was detained and taken to the police station, where a case was registered under Section 206 (2) of the Indian Penal Code. After counseling, he was handed over to his family. Mohan explained to the police that he felt harassed by his wife, leading to his extreme actions. The incident attracted a large crowd, causing traffic congestion as people gathered to watch the situation unfold.
