Man arrested in Hyderabad for job scam

Hyderabad city cyber crime police recently arrested a person from Noida, Uttar Pradesh for cheating women out of Rs 2.20 lakh. The accused, Vijaykant, was operating a fake job call center and promising women jobs at the airport authority of India. Upon receiving a complaint from a victim in Nampally, the police took action and seized various items from the accused, including laptops, mobile phones, cheque books, bank cards, and SIM cards.

According to A V Ranganath, the Joint Commissioner of Crimes and SIT, the cyber fraudster would obtain victims’ phone numbers from official job sites and then have telecallers contact them through messages and calls. The accused would conduct fake interviews and send fake offer letters to gain the victims’ trust. Once the victims transferred the money, the accused would stop responding to their calls.
