Tension arose near Suchitra in Hyderabad due to a land dispute involving former Minister Ch Malla Reddy. The dispute is over a 2-acre land parcel claimed by BRS leaders, including Malla Reddy and his son-in-law Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy. They went to the site with their followers after learning that others had put up fencing to encroach on their land, allegedly with the support of the ruling Congress.
Malla Reddy and Marri Rajsekhar Reddy were upset about the fencing put up overnight by the other party. They tried to remove it, leading to a police intervention to prevent the situation from escalating.
Malla Reddy accused the police of favoring the ruling Congress and believed they were behind the whole conflict. He claimed ownership of the land for 15 years and had all the necessary documents and survey details to prove it.
The other side argued that the land was being shared by 15 individuals according to court orders, with each having 400 sq yards. They also mentioned a court judgment in their favor.
Police intervened to calm the situation and urged both parties to resolve the issue peacefully. Despite efforts to stop Malla Reddy from arguing with officials, he and other BRS leaders were taken into custody.
