Male Flight Attendant Allegedly Grabbed and Forcefully Kissed by Drunk US Passenger

A man named David Alan Burk, 61, was arrested and charged with assault and criminal mischief after he allegedly forced himself on a male flight attendant and kissed him on the neck. Burk was heavily drunk when he made the advance towards the flight attendant on a Delta Airlines flight from Minnesota to Alaska. He was entitled to drinks before takeoff as he was a first-class passenger, but the crew member told him he “ran out of time” to serve him red wine. The flight attendant served him wine after takeoff but when he returned to collect the meal trays, Burk reached out to shake his hand. A few minutes later, Burk got up to use the restroom and stopped at the gallery where the flight attendant was. He told him he was “so beautiful” and asked for a kiss. When the flight attendant declined, Burk grabbed him and kissed him on the neck, making him uncomfortable.

Burk also damaged a tray containing food for the captain and later asked for two more glasses of red wine before falling asleep. After the plane landed, he was taken into custody by airport police but denied getting up to use the toilet, breaking a plate, or kissing the flight attendant. He acknowledged drinking “a lot” before the flight.

Burk has been charged with interfering with flight crew members and making false statements. He is due in court on April 27.
