Hyderabad: Rahul Sodadasi, an MTech student from Mahindra University, won the best paper award at the international conference on sustainable smart cities, CISSC-2025.
The conference was organized by Punjab Engineering College (PEC) in collaboration with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). It was an annual event focused on addressing challenges and innovations in building sustainable smart cities.
Held from February 7 to 9, the three-day conference included technical presentations and poster sessions. It brought together 296 students from around the world to discuss and present their research.
Rahul stood out with his paper titled “Understanding Driver Distractions in Two-wheelers Using Eye-tracker.” His research, co-authored with research scholar C Samuel Peter and guided by Associate Professor Dr. Saladi SV Subbarao, focused on the critical issue of driver distractions in two-wheelers.
By using eye-tracking technology, Rahul’s study aims to understand and reduce distractions among two-wheeler riders. This research could help improve road safety and create a more sustainable environment by reducing accidents.
Dr. Saladi Subba Rao, an associate professor at Mahindra University, expressed his pride in Rahul’s achievement. He stated that the conference provided a valuable platform for students to showcase their research and contribute to discussions on sustainable urban development.
