Lokesh denies benefiting Lingamaneni in IRR alignment scam, clarifies paying rent is not a quid pro quo

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary Nara Lokesh has denied any involvement in the alleged Amaravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) scam. He stated that paying rent to Lingamaneni guest house should not be seen as a quid pro quo. After being questioned by the CID for six hours, Lokesh spoke to the media and expressed his frustration with the repetitive nature of the questions. The CID showed him his mother’s tax returns and pointed out the rent payment of Rs 27 lakhs made to Lingamaneni guest house in 2019. Lokesh questioned when paying rent became a quid pro quo transaction.

Lokesh explained that quid pro quo is when someone pays a higher price for a share with a lower face value, like in the case of Sakshi TV. He also accused the CID of wasting his time to prevent him from continuing his “Yuvagalam” walkathon. During the questioning, the CID showed Lokesh a video of the Amaravati capital area, where he noticed that the Inner Ring Road was passing through Heritage Foods’ land, contrary to the claims made in the IRR case.

Lokesh argued that the CID was trying to implicate him in the IRR scam even though there was no IRR on the ground. He mentioned that his name was found in the Group of Ministers formed to clear 99 plots in the CRDA layout through a court order. When asked about the ongoing legal battle regarding the skill scam, Lokesh stated that the CID had failed to provide evidence of any money being deposited in his family members’ accounts.

Lokesh criticized the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government for allegedly seeking revenge by imprisoning his 73-year-old father. He claimed that his father was not feeling well and was not given the promised A-class facilities at the Central prison. Lokesh also pointed out that two Reddy officers, Premchandra Reddy and Ajaya Kallam Reddy, were missing from the charge sheet, suggesting that the Chief Minister who framed the skill development policy had been framed and jailed.
