In New Delhi, YSRCP Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav, who used to be a cop, was the first to catch one of the two people who broke security and entered Parliament while it was in session on Wednesday.
The Lok Sabha was in chaos as the two men jumped from the public gallery into the chamber, sprayed yellow gas, and shouted slogans. Madhav caught one of the accused and tied his hands behind his back. Other MPs then helped restrain the intruder before handing him over to security.
A video online showed MPs attacking one of the trespassers. JD(U) MP Ramprit Mandal, who witnessed the incident, said RLP leader Hanuman Beniwal was the first to overpower the accused with other MPs. The MPs praised Madhav for his bravery.
The two perpetrators have been identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan. Interestingly, Sharma had an invitation from Mysuru Lok Sabha member Prathap Simha to access the visitor’s gallery.
Chaos spread beyond the chamber doors. According to BSP MP Ram Shiromani Verma, Parliament was filled with yellow smoke as one intruder released a harmful substance. MPs worked together to apprehend him and found another object emitting more smoke in his shoe.
While chaos unfolded inside the Lok Sabha, a man and woman named Anmol and Neelam replicated the brazen act outside Parliament, using colored gas and shouting slogans.
All four individuals have been caught, and investigations are ongoing.
