Locals in Hyderabad demand action on Turkapally's ROB

The proposed Railway Over Bridges (ROB) at LC gate 249, Turkapally has been waiting for approval at the district collector’s office for many years. This delay is causing inconvenience for commuters and rail users who have to wait for 30 to 45 minutes at the Level Crossing (LC) every day.

Local residents are frustrated with this ongoing issue and are urging the State government and South Central Railways to develop a ROB and extend the Macha Bolarum underpass.

The locals have pointed out that the delay is due to the State government, as the collector needs to approve the project. This delay is causing hardships for commuters who have to wait for hours when the rail gates are closed. It is important to have an ROB at this rail gate to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent any productivity losses.

Rahul, a resident of Bolarum, mentioned that multiple inspections have been conducted by the railway and the State government. The final approval from the collector’s office is needed to proceed with the work. However, due to lack of clarity, locals face difficulties crossing the rail gate on a daily basis.

Murali Krishna, the president of the Federation of New Bolarum Colonies, emphasized that LC gate 249 is cutting off many colonies in Turkapally, making it essential for the locals to reach their destinations. The situation is worsening day by day, and they have been approaching government authorities for approval of the project for years. Additionally, the extension of Macha Bolarum Underpass should be addressed immediately as it is narrow and causes confusion, especially during peak hours.
