Minister for Energy, Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy, laid the foundation stone for the Rajgopuram of Sri Lingamanthula Swamy (Peddagattu) temple. The project is estimated to cost Rs 50 lakh and is located on the outskirts of Durajpally village.
During his speech, Minister Reddy praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s efforts in developing the Yadav community. He mentioned the government’s sheep distribution scheme to improve the socio-economic conditions of the Yadavs. Minister Reddy also highlighted that previous administrations did not give enough attention to the Peddagattu temple.
Under the current government, several developmental projects have been initiated at the Peddagattu temple. These include enhancing the temple pond, constructing a guest house, priests’ rest building, and electrification works. Minister Reddy announced that substantial funds have been allocated for the Peddagattu fair, a biannual event that holds cultural significance. He also revealed plans for constructing a grand Yadava welfare building in Suryapet to further support the welfare of the community.
