Hyderabad: Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) has dismissed rumors of leopard sightings on its campus. The university has urged the public not to believe in false information circulating on social media.

Following reports and speculation about leopard activity, university security, local police, and forest department officials conducted a detailed search on Sunday. The inspection lasted for four hours, but no evidence, such as footprints or traces of a leopard, was found on the campus.

Dr. Hussain, the university’s in-charge security officer, reassured everyone that there is currently no proof of a leopard’s presence. However, the reports have caused concern among students and parents. Dr. Hussain emphasized the importance of avoiding the spread of rumors to prevent unnecessary panic.

To ensure safety, security personnel will continue patrolling the campus. Students have been advised to stay cautious and avoid moving around the campus at night. Additionally, trap cameras have been installed to monitor the area closely for any unusual activity.

University authorities have requested cooperation from the public in minimizing the spread of unverified information. Despite thorough inspections of CCTV footage and areas like water ponds, no signs of a leopard have been found so far.
