Legal Action Initiated Against Namasthe Telangana Managing Director

Hyderabad: The police have registered cases against D Damodar Rao, the managing editor of Namasthe Telangana, following complaints from a group of farmers from Nadargul village. The farmers accused the newspaper of publishing false news under the title ‘Big Brother’s land pooling.’

According to sources, the Meerpet police have charged the editor under several legal sections. The farmers from Gurramguda, within the Nadargul Revenue area, claim ownership of over 200 acres of land. They alleged that the newspaper fabricated documents and published the fake news on October 31.

The farmers were upset and protested against the newspaper. They said that the BRS government, along with HMDA, had proposed developing the land, but the land had been passed down through generations, and they were still farming on it. The farmers were especially angry at the report, which claimed there was a Rs 10 lakh per acre agreement and that Rs 2 lakh had already been paid.

Around 100 farmers filed formal complaints and demanded the police investigate who the private individuals involved in the report were. They insisted that they had not received any money from anyone. The police are expected to issue a notice to the managing editor soon.
