Leaders of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha elections start competing for appointed positions.

Former MP Sircilla Rajaiah has been appointed as the chairman of the Telangana Finance Commission, and PCC campaign convenor Syed Azmatullah Husseni is now the chairman of the Telangana Wakf Board. Other hopeful candidates are lobbying for remaining nominated posts before the Lok Sabha elections.

Around 30-40 nominated posts need to be filled, with at least 10-15 positions expected to be occupied before the Lok Sabha polls notification. Key positions are being filled to ensure smooth functioning of departments, with more appointments expected in the next few weeks.

Front runners for these posts include Shiva Sena Reddy, Addanki Dayakar, Patel Ramesh Reddy, Kalva Sujatha, E Anil Kumar, Revanth Reddy Faheem Qureshi, and others. Existing party members are feeling uneasy as leaders from other parties are joining, potentially reducing their opportunities for leadership roles.

The appointment of Azmatullah as the Wakf Board chairman has other aspirants hoping for positions in other sections under Minority Welfare. Leaders like Syed Nizamuddin and PI Ahmed Nasir are eager for the party’s decision. Nizamuddin is known for his work in transport activism and party activities, while Nasir is recognized among Youth Congress leaders at both state and national levels.
