Laxman criticizes the auction of UoH land

Dr. K. Laxman, a Member of Parliament and National President of the BJP OBC Morcha, has strongly criticized the Telangana government’s decision to sell 400 acres of land belonging to Hyderabad Central University.

He pointed out that this land, located on the east campus of the university, is home to the famous Mushroom Rock, where peacocks, deer, and various bird species live. The area also has rare plants and trees, making it an ecologically important site.

Dr. Laxman accused the Congress government of trying to take over this land for private and corporate interests. He said this decision shows the government’s careless attitude towards education and environmental protection.

The Telangana State Industries and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TSIIC) recently announced that the 400-acre land in Kancha Gachibowli, Serilingampalli mandal, will be auctioned between March 8 and 15. The estimated value of this land is Rs. 10,000 crores.

However, Dr. Laxman argued that this land rightfully belongs to Hyderabad Central University. He explained that when the university was established, the United Andhra Pradesh government had allocated 2,300 acres under Survey No. 25 for research and education.

He also criticized the Congress party for being hypocritical. He said that while Congress often accuses the BJP of privatizing national resources, it is now selling land meant for education to private companies.

Dr. Laxman demanded that the Congress government cancel the auction and return the land to the university. He said this would prove the government’s commitment to education and environmental protection.

He also warned that if the auction is not stopped, the BJP will launch an agitation against the decision.
