Efforts Underway to Restore Kakatiya University's Glory
Efforts are being made to restore the academic excellence and prestige of Kakatiya University (KU), which once thrived as a center of learning. A high-level meeting was held on Saturday at the university campus to discuss the steps needed to bring the institution back on track. Key attendees included KU Vice-Chancellor Prof. K Prathap Reddy, Registrar Prof. P Malla Reddy, Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy, Wardhannapet MLA K R Nagaraju, Parkal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy, and MP K Kavya.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy highlighted KU’s historical importance, especially during the Telangana Movement. He blamed past rulers for neglecting the university and said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is eager to revamp the state’s universities. Naini also assured that all district MLAs would work together to urge the Chief Minister to prioritize the development of KU.
An upcoming meeting on December 23 will focus on creating an action plan for KU’s development. Naini emphasized that addressing issues like land encroachment on university property is a top priority. He promised a fair investigation into the matter.
The meeting also addressed student concerns and the need for new infrastructure, including a dining hall for female students. Naini criticized the previous government, alleging that it ignored the university and failed to resolve problems faced by staff and students. He stated that the previous administration never convened a meeting to address KU’s challenges.
KU executive members, including Anitha Reddy, Chirra Raju, Suresh Lal, Rama, Pulluru Sudhakar, and Sudarshan, also participated in the discussions. Together, they are committed to ensuring the university regains its prominence.
