KTR praised Bhagat’s team for establishing a large-scale handloom unit with the aim of protecting the handloom weavers and providing them with employment opportunities. The government will initiate several programs to support the development of handicrafts.

KTR accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of imposing GST on weavers, but stated that the Telangana government has stepped in to help struggling Pochampally handlooms by providing incentives. The government is committed to reviving the Pochampally handloom park and creating more employment opportunities for the weaving community.
