BRS party working president K Tarakarama Rao criticized the ruling Congress party for allowing political defections. He called out CM Revanth Reddy to make the six defected MLAs from their party resign and face by-polls. KTR expressed confidence that people would reject these defected MLAs through votes. He made these remarks during a district BRS party meeting in Jagtial.
KTR urged the defected MLAs to step down from their positions and contest elections. He highlighted the history of defections in Indian politics, pointing out instances where Congress initiated such practices. KTR emphasized that the 12 Congress MLAs who joined BRS party were merged constitutionally, and not through unethical means.
He recounted past events where attempts were made to poach TRS party MLAs by the Congress government. KTR credited the support of Telangana’s people for the successful establishment of a separate state in 2014. He also mentioned instances of political maneuvering by different parties in the past to gain power.
In response to CM Revanth Reddy’s harsh comments about defection, KTR questioned who should be considered a “mad dog” in this scenario. He criticized the idea of stoning politicians to death for changing allegiances after elections. KTR reiterated BRS party’s commitment to upholding the Constitution and laws during political transitions.
