BRS MLA K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) spoke at a memorial service for CPM National General Secretary Sitaram Yechury. The event was held at Ravindra Bharathi and was attended by political leaders and activists. They gathered to honor Yechury’s long and impactful political career.
During his speech, KTR praised Yechury as a “great leader” who always stuck to his principles and valued theories over positions, even during difficult political times. He mentioned that Yechury’s choices stood out, especially when many politicians were defecting from one party to another.
KTR also expressed a personal connection, saying, “As children of the movement, we are connected to Yechury by blood.” This sentiment reflected the deep respect and admiration many feel for Yechury’s struggles and achievements.
He further emphasized that Yechury taught valuable lessons, such as the importance of questioning authority, which is vital to a functioning democracy.
The memorial was attended by several notable figures, including Kodandaram, Tammineni Veerabhadram, BV Raghavulu, Mohan Kanda, MP Mallu Ravi, and MLA Maganti Gopinath.
