Telangana Government Takes Initiative to Improve Medical Services
Hyderabad: The Telangana government is taking the lead in providing quality medical services to the people of the state. With the aim of reducing the burden on patients for medical examinations, the government has established Telangana Diagnostics, as announced by Minister for IT and Industries, KT Rama Rao. The diagnostic services, which started in Hyderabad in January 2018, have now expanded statewide. Through Telangana Diagnostics, free medical examinations are being conducted at primary health centers and Basti Dawakhana.
KT Rama Rao revealed that Telangana Diagnostics is currently offering two types of tests. As part of pathological services, blood tests, urine tests, and imaging services such as X-ray, USG, ECG, 2D Echo, mammogram, and others are being provided. Since the inception of diagnostic services, around 5.768 million people have undergone tests, generating a revenue of Rs 104 million. The tests conducted at diagnostic centers have been extended to 134 centers. The initiative has been applauded by the State Health Commission.
Minister for Health and Finance, Harish Rao, congratulated KT Rama Rao for the successful implementation of the diagnostic services and appreciated his efforts in promoting healthcare in the state.
