KTR accuses Revanth of Rs 1,000 crore TDR scam in Hyderabad

BRS working president KT Rama Rao has accused Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of being involved in a ₹1,000 crore scam related to Transferable Development Rights (TDR).

KTR claimed that Revanth Reddy, along with four real estate brokers close to him, was manipulating the TDR system for financial gain. Speaking informally with the media, he alleged that these brokers were actively purchasing TDR rights in Hyderabad at very low prices. He further stated that Revanth Reddy planned to restrict the Floor Space Index (FSI) in the city, which would increase the demand for TDRs. Once the demand surged, the brokers would sell them at high prices, making huge illegal profits.

The BRS leader compared this alleged scheme to insider trading, which is a serious crime. He demanded that investigative agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) look into the matter. KTR also urged Revanth Reddy to release a detailed report on TDR ownership and transactions in Hyderabad over the past six months.

Explaining the background, KTR pointed out that during YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure, the Congress government had encouraged unrestricted FSI to support urban development. He said that previous governments had continued this policy, but now Revanth Reddy was misusing it for personal gain.

KTR also mentioned that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had acquired around 400 acres of land from citizens for infrastructure projects using the TDR system. He accused Revanth Reddy of turning this beneficial policy into a means for illegal wealth accumulation. He hinted that an official announcement regarding this alleged scam could be made soon.
