Former minister and senior Congress leader Konda Surekha campaigned in the Warangal East constituency on Wednesday. She expressed her disappointment with the lack of development in Warangal over the past five years. Although the Congress has not announced a candidate yet, Surekha is expected to be the frontrunner for the Warangal East seat.

During her interaction with the locals, Surekha criticized the sitting MLA Nannapuneni Narender for prioritizing personal wealth accumulation instead of addressing the issues faced by the people. She claimed that the development that did occur in the region was during her own tenure as MLA from 2014 to 2018. She highlighted the poor condition of roads, drainages, and infrastructure in the city.

Surekha also accused the ruling BRS leaders of making false promises to deceive the people. She expressed confidence that the Congress party would come to power, emphasizing their commitment to the welfare of the common man. Surekha urged party cadres to educate the public about the Six Guarantees – Mahalakshmi, Rythu Bharosa, Gruha Jyothi, Indiramma Houses, Yuva Vikasam, and Cheyutha. She encouraged them to expose the failures of the BRS Government and believed that the people would hold them accountable.

Surekha assured every party worker that the Konda family would take care of them. She urged them to remain loyal to the Congress and not be influenced by other parties’ tactics.
