Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, G Kishan Reddy, announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Telangana from October 1-3. During his visit, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for several railway projects. Reddy made this statement during the virtual flagging off of the third Vande Bharat Train by Modi.

Reddy highlighted that Modi has been actively working towards the development of the railways in Telangana. He mentioned that when Modi came to power in 2014, the railway infrastructure in Telangana was inadequate compared to other states. However, since then, the Centre has allocated a significant amount of railway projects to Telangana. In the current financial year, Rs 4,418 crore has been allocated for railways in Telangana, compared to Rs 258 crore proposed in 2014 during the UPA government.

Reddy further stated that there are about Rs 31,000 crore worth of railway projects and works currently being executed in Telangana. He mentioned that 21 railway station modernization works have been undertaken with an estimated cost of Rs 2,300 crore. The Secundrabad railway station will be developed similar to the Hyderabad Airport, and the modernization of the Nampally railway station is already underway. Works for the modernization of Kacheguda will also begin soon, along with the construction of a new terminal at Cherlapalli costing approximately Rs 221 crore.

Additionally, Reddy announced that the first phase of wagon manufacturing at the Kazipet Wagon factory will commence soon, along with the production of railway components. He encouraged people to utilize railway services and emphasized that the Vande Bharat trains provide a new experience for travelers.

Reddy also mentioned that the regional ring road (RRR) connecting Hyderabad with a regional rail facility will be a game changer for the city. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for sanctioning the third Vande Bharat train to the state and commended the railway officials for their efforts.
