Kishan expresses gratitude to Gujarat CM and minister for airlifting T patient from Ahmedabad

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy expressed his gratitude to the Gujarat government for their prompt and compassionate response in helping a Telangana student facing a medical emergency. The student, Pochampally Jayanth, who is studying in Gujarat, had severe health complications after cancer treatment.

Jayanth, a student at Rashtriya Raksha University, has been battling blood cancer and has faced various health issues including unconsciousness, seizures, and brain hemorrhage. He was brought to Apollo Hospital in an unconscious state with a high white blood cell count and a hemorrhage in his brain. He was diagnosed with blood cancer complicated by sludging of blood flow affecting his brain and lungs.

His emergency treatment included the removal of white blood cells, anticancer therapy, blood transfusion, and ventilator support. He also underwent surgery to address the pressure on his brain. Throughout his treatment, he faced challenges such as bleeding problems, infections, and lung issues.

A team of medical professionals led by Lt Gen Dr Velu Nair provided comprehensive care for Jayanth. Currently, his blood cancer is under control, and he is conscious and free from seizures and infections.

Recognizing the financial strain on the family, Minister G Kishan Reddy assured complete assistance and promptly arranged for the patient to be airlifted to Telangana. With the support of the Union Civil Aviation ministry, Jayanth and his family were flown back to their hometown and admitted to NIMS hospital where he is currently stable.

The patient’s relatives expressed their gratitude to the Gujarat government for their help and support.
