Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, G Kishan Reddy, laid the foundation stone for a VDCC road and water pipeline in Shadnagar Colony of Gudumalkapur division in Nampally Assembly segments. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 90 lakh. During the inauguration, the minister criticized the state government’s policies for leaving Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in debt and unable to provide basic amenities to residential colonies and slums. The minister also addressed the issues of non-payment of bills to contractors and poor road conditions in various parts of the city.

Kishan Reddy assured that he will focus on developing Secundrabad parliamentary constituency and resolving the problems faced by its people. As part of the same, the MPLADS funds are being spent on adding additional facilities in all primary health centres under the constituency. Additionally, community halls and drinking water facilities are being constructed. Kishan Reddy also announced plans to install light and sound systems at Charminar and Golkonda Fort and develop Arts College and Osmania University into tourist spots.
