Kishan Accuses Congress of Deceiving the Public in the State

Telangana BJP chief and Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, has criticized Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Congress party. He said that the Congress leaders haven’t been able to implement the promises they made in their election manifesto in Telangana. Despite this, they are now trying to deceive the people of Maharashtra with similar promises.

Kishan Reddy made these remarks during a media conference in Mumbai on Tuesday. He was joined by Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Shobha Karandlaje, and former Union Minister, Anurag Singh Thakur. Together, they accused the Congress party of misleading the public in Maharashtra.

He explained that Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Revanth Reddy, had travelled to various villages, promising six guarantees. One of these promises was financial assistance of Rs 15,000 under the Rythu Bharosa scheme for farmers. However, this has not been fulfilled.

Kishan Reddy also mentioned that the Congress had promised to build Indiramma houses, but not a single foundation stone has been laid. Instead, people who have lived in Hyderabad for decades are being evicted in the name of city beautification.

Additionally, he said that farmers were promised Rs 500 per quintal for various crops, but middlemen are exploiting them, and the Minimum Support Price (MSP) set by the central government is not being given. He also noted that the Congress had promised Rs 5 lakh in educational assistance for youth, but no one has received any benefits from this scheme.

Other promises, like providing Rs 4,000 pensions for women, the disabled, toddy workers, laborers, and dialysis patients within 100 days of taking office, have also not been kept. Kishan Reddy criticized the Congress government for not even paying the previous pension dues owed to these groups.

The BJP leader accused the Congress of cheating the people of Telangana and warned the people of Maharashtra not to fall for the party’s false promises. He also challenged Rahul Gandhi to a debate on Telangana’s development at the Mumbai Press Club. Kishan Reddy warned that Telangana is facing severe financial problems with a debt of Rs 8 lakh crore and accused the ruling BRS party and Congress of looting the state for the past 10 years.
