A three-and-a-half-year-old child named Karishma was taken by two people near Dadus Sweet House in Secunderabad on Sunday, June 4, around 3:30 in the morning. Another child, a 7-month-old baby boy, was also taken shortly after. Luckily, Megharaj Kaley, a 40-year-old balloon seller who was nearby, was able to help the police find the abductors and rescue the children.
The parents of Karishma tried to follow the abductors but couldn’t find them. They asked Kaley for help at 4:15 am, and he called the Mahankali police station. The police quickly registered a case against the kidnappers, who were identified as Sheik Absar and Parveen. The kidnappers had been taking babies and selling them for Rs 2 lakh each to an unknown buyer to try to make money.
The kidnappers took Karishma and the baby boy to Hanuman Tekdi, Sultan Bazaar. The police were able to use CCTV footage to track the kidnappers’ movements and caught them near Sunshine Hospital in Secunderabad just two hours after Karishma was taken. Thanks to their quick work, both children were safely returned to their families.
