Indian badminton player Kidambi Srikanth has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Madrid Masters tournament after defeating fellow Indian player B Sai Praneeth in a straight game match. Srikanth, who is ranked world no. 21 and seeded fifth in the tournament, won 21-15, 21-12 in the second round. He will now face top seed Kenta Nishimoto of Japan in what is expected to be a tough match. Nishimoto received a walkover in his second round match against France’s Arnaud Merkle. Other Indian players still in contention in the men’s singles category include Kiran George, Priyanshu Rajawat, and Sameer Verma.
