Political heavyweights from various parties are focusing on Khammam district as the Lok Sabha elections approach. The district has a rich political history, making it a key battleground for parties.

The Congress party is gearing up for the elections by launching the Indiramma Houses scheme in the district. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the program in Bhadrachalam on March 11, kicking off the party’s election campaign. With two ministers and the Deputy CM strategically located in the district, the Congress is aiming for a strong victory. The party has not yet announced its candidate from Khammam but enjoys strong support in the state.

The BRS party is holding a public meeting in Khammam city to support their candidate, sitting MP Nama Nageswara Rao. Key party leaders such as K T Rama Rao, Harish Rao, and others will participate in the event to showcase the party’s strength.

The BJP has also started campaigning in Khammam, launching a ‘Vijay Sankalp Bus Yatra’ from Bhadrachalam. Led by Chattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, the campaign gained momentum with the successful Ayodhya Rama temple construction initiative. The party is yet to announce its MP candidate but is actively campaigning.

The left parties CPI and CPM are also eyeing the Khammam MP seat. The CPI, part of the INDIA alliance, is strategizing with district party leaders for the elections. The CPM is preparing to contest independently to showcase its strength.
