Kanna Rao, who is the nephew of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has been arrested in a land dispute case. The arrest came after the Telangana High Court denied his anticipatory bail petition. The case involves allegations that Kanna Rao and 37 others attempted to take over two acres of land in Manneguda. The complaint was filed by Bandoju Srinivas, who claimed that the accused tried to encroach on land meant for development by OSR Projects.
According to reports, Kanna Rao’s associates allegedly threatened employees, damaged property, and tried to forcibly take control of the land. They used machinery to destroy boundary walls, cut fencing wires, burned furniture, and attempted to take over the property. Adibatla police issued a lookout notice for Kanna Rao and registered a case against him for offenses like attempted murder, criminal trespass, causing damage, using explosive substances, and rioting under the Indian Penal Code.
