KCR cautions candidates about potential legal obstacles

Hyderabad: BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao has advised party candidates to be cautious when filing nomination papers in light of cases being filed against elected representatives on technical grounds. He handed over B-forms to 51 candidates at Telangana Bhavan and mentioned that he had started signing the forms today after being advised by priests not to sign any documents or cheques during inauspicious days. The remaining candidates will receive their signed B-forms on Monday.

KCR cautioned the candidates to be careful while filing nominations and mentioned cases filed against leaders like V Srinivas Goud, Vanama Venkateshwara Rao, and B Krishnamohan Reddy (Gadwal) challenging their elections. He urged them to consult the party legal team headed by Bharat Kumar, who is just a phone call away. The party leaders should also be cautious, fill up nomination papers before filling them, and keep track of the updated voter list. The legal team will help the candidates understand the laws and guidelines as they are constantly changing.

The BRS chief stated that the party could allocate tickets without major changes this time, except for a few places like Vemulawada where the candidate was facing legal hurdles. In Asifabad, Kova Lakshmi was given a ticket based on her popularity and the MLA would be accommodated elsewhere. KCR emphasized the importance of taking leaders along with the candidates in their constituencies during elections. He gave the example of former minister Jupally Krishna Rao, who did not listen to this advice and ultimately lost the election when one party leader filed as a rebel and received over 15,000 votes.
