Kavitha Leads Telangana Thalli Statue Installation in Jagtial
BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha took the initiative to set up the Telangana Thalli statue in Jagtial on Sunday, despite the restrictions outlined in the Gazette and Government Orders (GOs). During her district tour, she performed the ‘bhoomi puja’ (groundbreaking ceremony) for the statue’s installation.
Party activists warmly welcomed Kavitha with garlands as she arrived in the area. She began by paying floral tributes to the Ambedkar statue before proceeding with the puja for the Telangana Thalli statue. Kavitha declared that the party would move forward with the installation of the statues despite the legal challenges posed by the GOs and Gazette. She emphasized that Telangana Thalli has been a symbol of inspiration and courage, especially during the Telangana separatist movement.
Kavitha also stated that the party aims to spread the spirit of ‘Bathukamma’—a cultural festival unique to Telangana—on a global scale. She criticized the government for allegedly attacking Telangana’s identity and vowed to expose such actions at the grassroots level. Kavitha reaffirmed her commitment to installing Telangana Thalli statues in villages across the state to preserve and promote regional pride.
During her visit, Kavitha stopped by the Kasturba School in Sarangapur to meet with students, teachers, and staff. She listened to their concerns and highlighted the government’s failure to extend increased diet charges to Kasturba Schools. Speaking to the media, she expressed her disappointment over this issue and urged for better support for the schools.
Several prominent leaders accompanied Kavitha during her visit, including former minister Koppula Eshwar, district party president and former MLA Kalvakuntla Vidyasagar Rao, former ZP chairperson Dava Vasantha, ex-Markfed chairman Loka Bapi Reddy, and Dava Suresh.
