Mahabubnagar: Journalists' Welfare a Top Priority

“The welfare of journalists is our top priority,” said TUWJ (IJU) State Secretary Madhu Goud during a district executive meeting held on Tuesday at the TNGO Bhavan in Mahabubnagar. The meeting focused on addressing key issues faced by journalists, such as housing, education, and healthcare.

The event was chaired by the district president, Dattendar, and saw active participation from union members. Speaking as the chief guest, Madhu Goud assured attendees that the union is fully committed to resolving journalists’ problems. He stressed the importance of unity among journalists to overcome challenges and urged them to work together to achieve their shared goals.

Addressing the issue of housing plots for journalists, Madhu Goud said efforts are being made to find a permanent solution. He also mentioned that the state leadership is working on a special policy to address journalists’ concerns regarding education, healthcare, and housing needs. During the meeting, union members highlighted the need for dedicated representatives to focus on these critical areas.

In response, Madhu Goud, along with district president Dattendar and secretary Ramanjaneyulu, announced the appointment of convenors to tackle these issues. Shekhar Goud, IJU Electronic Media District President, was appointed as the convenor for healthcare, while N. Satish Kumar Reddy from the News Bureau was named the convenor for education. Madhu Goud expressed confidence in the new appointees, assuring that they would provide full support and assistance to journalists.

The meeting was attended by several prominent members, including district executive members Shekhar Goud, Venkataiah, and Gokulam Venkatesh, Vice President Raju, senior journalists, and others. The union reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the welfare and rights of journalists in the district.
