Hyderabad: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Telangana has announced a major leadership change. John Wesley has been appointed as the new State Secretary of the party. This decision aligns with the CPM’s policy of revitalizing its leadership by retiring leaders aged above 70 from active roles in the state committee.
Several senior leaders, including Thammineni Veerabhadram, former MLC Seetharamulu, and Narsing Rao, have stepped down from the state committee due to these age restrictions. These leaders have been key figures in the party’s activities over the years and have played critical roles in shaping its strategies in Telangana.
John Wesley, the new State Secretary, comes from Mahabubnagar district. He is well-regarded for his strong connection to grassroots movements and his dedication to the party’s principles. Wesley is expected to bring renewed energy and fresh perspectives to the CPM’s efforts in the state.
The leadership transition is part of a broader strategy by the CPM to involve younger leaders. The party aims to strengthen its presence in Telangana by addressing modern challenges and rallying public support for its policies.
