Dheeksha Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm in Gadwal

The Jogulamba Gadwal district came alive on Friday with the spirited celebration of Dheeksha Day, a momentous occasion in Telangana’s history. The event was held at the BRS party office under the leadership of Basu Hanumanthu Naidu. Former MLC and Dheeksha Day district in-charge Karne Prabhakar, Alampur MLA Vijaya Reddy, and former Sports Authority Chairman Anjaneyulu Goud were among the distinguished guests who attended.

The day was dedicated to honoring Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) for his pivotal role in the Telangana movement. Leaders at the event stressed that it was KCR’s unwavering determination that led to the success of the statehood agitation. They described his indefinite hunger strike as a defining moment in the struggle, urging every Telangana citizen to remember this historic day.

The program began with floral tributes to the Telangana Talli statue, followed by pouring milk on KCR’s portrait as a mark of respect. The BRS party flag was also hoisted to commemorate the occasion. Speaking at the event, Karne Prabhakar highlighted KCR’s commitment to non-violence, comparing his hunger strike to Mahatma Gandhi’s methods. He noted that KCR’s sacrifice led to the UPA government declaring Telangana statehood on December 9, marking a major milestone in the movement.

Prabhakar further called on the public to honor KCR’s dedication to the cause. He described KCR as the “father of Telangana,” whose tireless efforts turned the dream of a separate state into reality. He praised KCR for his fearless leadership and for inspiring countless individuals to join the fight for Telangana.

Prominent Leaders and Attendees

The event saw the participation of several key leaders and BRS party members, including Nagar Doddi Venkata Ramulu, Gattu Mandal ZPTC Basu Shyamala, Vijay Kumar, Patel Vishnuvardhan Reddy, and Monesh, among others. Municipal chairpersons from Alampur, Vaddepalli, and Aija were also present, alongside MPTCs, local leaders, and party workers.

Party members and supporters from Gadwal and Alampur constituencies came together in large numbers, showcasing their admiration for KCR and the achievements of the Telangana movement. The event was a heartfelt tribute to KCR’s leadership and the collective spirit that made Telangana statehood possible.
