Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU)-Hyderabad has decided to bring back the fourth Saturday of every month as a holiday.
According to university officials, this rule will apply to the university headquarters, campus, and constituent colleges. However, it will not be applicable to affiliated colleges. A circular regarding this decision was issued by JNTU-Hyderabad Registrar, Prof. K Venkateswara Rao, following the directions of Vice Chancellor, Prof. T Kishen Kumar Reddy, on Thursday.
With this change, the university offices, campus, and constituent colleges will now remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. Previously, JNTU-Hyderabad had a holiday on the fourth Saturday until 2008, but it was later discontinued, said a senior university official.
