Jet Skiing Facility Launched at Hyderabad's Tank Bund
Water sports enthusiasts in Hyderabad have something exciting to look forward to. A new jet skiing facility has been launched at Tank Bund, thanks to the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC). This initiative is part of the state’s push to promote adventure tourism.
The facility was inaugurated on Wednesday by Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy. Set up by the Amaravati Boating Club, the launch event saw the Minister himself taking a jet ski ride to officially kick things off. Visitors to Hussain Sagar can now enjoy a range of water activities, including jet skiing, kayaking, jet attack rides, and water rollers. These activities aim to entertain both adults and children alike.
Minister Krishna Rao highlighted the government’s commitment to developing water tourism and adventure sports in Telangana. He emphasized that the state has immense potential for tourism, with its rich history, ancient temples, scenic water bodies, and adventure opportunities. Water sports, he said, are gaining significant popularity, and the government is actively working on plans to promote them. Efforts are also underway to identify water resources across the state that can be developed into tourist attractions.
The Minister pointed out specific locations like the Somashila backwaters, the Krishna River basin, Nagarjuna Sagar, and Hyderabad’s Hussain Sagar. He stated that if these areas are developed to meet international standards, they could significantly boost the water tourism sector. Such developments, he added, would create job opportunities for locals and contribute to the state’s economy.
Minister Krishna Rao also criticized past governments for neglecting tourism development. He mentioned that earlier promises to clean and transform Hussain Sagar into a drinking water reservoir were never fulfilled. He stressed the need to purify and completely clean the lake. Under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the government has put together a special program to revitalize the tourism sector. Steps are being taken to implement this plan, including initiatives through public-private partnerships.
This new water sports facility at Tank Bund is just the beginning of the state’s broader vision to make Telangana a hub for adventure and water tourism.
