A huge fire started in a slum in Jahangirpuri, Delhi on Sunday. It began in the K block of the slums. The fire service was called at 10:22 am and sent nine fire trucks to the scene. A fireman arrived at 10:30 am and saw that a godown of waste materials beyond the slums had caught fire.
The slum was in danger, but 11-12 vehicles arrived to help. The cooling process will take some time, but they have the fire under control. No casualties have been reported yet, even though the dousing operation is still ongoing.
In addition, an old boys’ hostel at Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi also caught fire on Sunday morning. The fire service was called at 6:09 am.
