Jagdish Reddy announces Rs1,404 crore power line constructions in the old city

Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy announced that power line constructions in the old city of Hyderabad have been completed at a cost of Rs 1,404.58 crores. So far, Rs 1,330.94 crore worth of work has been finished and another Rs 73.64 crore worth of work is still in progress.

Minister Jagdish Reddy provided this information in response to a question from MLCs Mirza Riazal Hasan and Mirza RahmatBaig of MIM in the Telangana Legislative Council. He stated that the government has spent Rs 957.29 crores on transmission, while TSSPDCL has spent Rs 447.29 crores. These investments have helped ensure steady electricity transmission over the past nine years.

The minister also shared some details about the infrastructure improvements. Four 220 KV sub-stations, two 132 KV sub-stations, and 33/11 KV sub-stations have been installed. Additionally, 15,256 km of 33 KV line and 565 km of 11 KV line have been laid, along with the capacity increase of 16 transformers. These constructions were undertaken after a review meeting with the legislators of the old city, who had requested them. The government resolved space-related issues for the construction of sub-stations with the help of local legislators.

Minister Jagdish Reddy concluded by praising Telangana electricity companies and their staff for their efforts in ensuring uninterrupted power transmission, even during calamities. He emphasized that there is no evidence of power cuts in the state.
