The National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jagat Prakash Nadda, will visit Himachal Pradesh on Sunday, August 20th. He will assess the damage caused by heavy rains and floods and meet with the families of those who lost their lives in this natural disaster.
Nadda will start his visit by going to Shimla’s ancient Shiv temple, which was destroyed by excessive rains. He will also hold meetings with officials in Shimla and Bilaspur to discuss relief, rescue, and repair efforts.
On Sunday morning, Nadda will arrive in Paonta Sahib (Sirmour) and then travel to the villages of Sirmouri Tal and Kachchi Dhang to assess the situation caused by the cloudburst and meet with the families of the five victims.
At 11:20 a.m., Nadda will visit Shimla’s Shiv Bawdi, Summerhill, to inspect the historic Shiva temple site that has been destroyed. So far, 16 bodies have been recovered from this disaster and rescue operations are ongoing. He will then assess the damage in the Krishnanagar area via the Krishnanagar-Shimla bypass.
In the afternoon, Nadda will meet with local leaders at Hotel Peterhof in Shimla to discuss relief and rescue efforts. Later, at around 3:15 p.m., he will reach the Circuit House in Bilaspur to meet with affected families and discuss rehabilitation programs with local authorities.
